Diapers: Cloth Versus Disposable

Bambo Nature - Maxi 17-39lb/8-18kg (50 Nappies)
Some people think of cloth diapers and think "Gross!" When those disposables just go in your garbage can and stink up the whole room until you take the trash out, what's the difference? Cloth diapers, especially the One Size Fits All "All In Ones", can just be wiped clean using regular wipes or toilet paper, then washed with the daily laundry. Then there's no taking out the trash to get rid of the smell, and best of all no diaper to sit in a landfill for the next seven years.

What Are Your Diapering Needs And Priorities?

What you really have to ask yourself is, what are your priorities, and what are your needs when it comes to which diapers you choose? If you're constantly on the run or would not have any extra time to do the laundry a few extra times a week, then the convenience of disposables is undeniable. However, the fact is that cloth diapers will save you money and time. All you need to do is a little more laundry... But the reward is hundreds of dollars, thousands if you buy them for your first baby and keep using them with your second and third and beyond! One Size Fits All "All In Ones" need no liner, and no prefolds. Just take it out of the drawer and put in on that heiny!

Upfront Costs And Your Long Term Bottom Line

The final issue between the two is upfront cost versus long run costs. An average baby can go through about £30 per month of disposable diapers. If you have them potty trained by three years old, that's about £1200! Other costs add onto that total such as diaper genies and diaper rash creams. Cloth diapers on the other hand, for a full set that won't make you run short at the end of each week will set you back around £210, and some brands a little more. Now, you do the math. That's a Long Run savings of $985! Now, if you buy them for your first baby and use them for your second also, that number more than doubles to a £3185 savings.
